10 Things

I have started something very quick and simple in my Bible study that has actually begun to make a huge impact on my day. Every morning I list 10 things that I was thankful for the day before. They can be anything, serious, silly, simple, big...the list can go on and on. It has made a huge impact because it starts my morning out with thankfulness. I started to realize my prayers and journaling started consitently focusing on wants, needs, and requests. Although there is nothing wrong with bringing these to God and in fact, He wants us to share our needs with Him. I think there is also a beautiful side to bringing our thankfulness to Him every morning. Thanking Him for His blessings. If you have fallen into the habit of just sharing needs and wants with God, I encourage you to make a list every morning of things you were thankful for the day before and see the impact it has in your life that whole day.

1. A warm cup of coffee and my quiet time every morning.
2. The laughter of my students throughout the day. To hear them giggle and laugh makes me one of the happiest people around. I love their pure joy and excitement over things.
3. Hudson
4. Having this year with my mom and dad. Looking at Gods plans for my life, I'm now thinking that this year back home was hugely to spend it with my parents. I have enjoyed every moment with them and will forever be thankful for the time spent with them.
5. A warm house and shower.
6. Working for my church Sunday mornings.
7. Spending this year with my best friend, Madison Cothran. Living with her in an apartment and learning more and more from her beautiful heart that is found in Christ.
8. Music
9. The snow
10. The ability to work at Blue Ridge and more specifically, under the most incredible principal and lead teacher. They have both invested and impacted my life more than they will ever know. I can't imagine working for any other principal.

There are my 10 things that I have been thankful for from this past week!
Now it's your turn. Try it for a week and see how this can impact your day to be more grateful for the things that happen in your life.
