The Two That Rock My World

Warning: This is a post to brag on my top two role models in life.

Unfortunately, most of the things they do go unseen to this world....many unseen to me as well.

I have come to the realization that these two roles models are the worlds BEST role models ever and it is only fair for me to brag.

They do not deserve me in their life, they deserve someone so much better than me, but I thank God every day.

Without them I would be lost in life.

You see, one is called mom and the other is called dad.

My mom is the Proverbs 31 woman that every girl learns about in a Christian home...but you see, I didn't have some Bible study teaching me what this woman looks like because God blessed with me with a living example of it every day in my life.

My mom puts my entire family before her. Whether this means physically putting our needs before hers, or spiritually praying every day for each of us. Let's be honest here, a mothers prayer is VERY powerful...am I right or am I right? Sometimes we have to be careful what we tell our moms depending on how they will follow it up with prayer :)

My mom is the mom that will sacrifice her daily walk/run to watch my new puppy for me while I go run because I was an idiot and signed up for a marathon the same time I bought a puppy.

My mom is the mom that when I get a phone call of rejection for my dream job, she walks over and gives me a hug, but within the 10 seconds of walking over has completely come up with a new plan in her head as to how to help me find a different job. My mom teaches me to never give up; to never let life get you down; and when you are rejected to not call it rejection, but look at it as God's redirection.

My mom shows me what determination is when she gets up day after day to run and accomplish goals with running that she set. She motivates me to finish whatever I start, but finish it with excellence and nothing less than that.

My mom is the mom that knows how to make me laugh when I am crying.
My mom is the mom that knows how to make me feel important every moment of the day.
My mom is the mom that drives all the way to my college to make sure I eat the right food before my half marathon.
My mom is the mom that takes me shopping when I have a bad day.
My mom is the perfect mom.
My mom is my best friend.

My dad is the greatest role model of what any man should look like in my life. My mom tells me before my sister and I were born my dad was afraid to even hold babies. That shocks me, why? Because my dad is the most hands on, involved dad in my life. My dad is the perfect dad.

My dad is the one that looks at me after my future seems to be crashing down around me and says, "I am always here for you, Baby. You know I will do whatever I can do to help you in any way."

My dad is the dad that has packed, unpacked, packed, and unpacked his truck with my "too many to count" times I've moved since being in college. All these times and not once complained to me.

My dad is the dad that carries the weight of the world on his shoulders to only shelter me from things he doesn't want me to worry about. You see, my dad teaches me about sacrificing for others. My dad has sacrificed beyond what I could ever comprehend for me. Not because he feel obligated to, but because he has such an incredible love for me that he wants to sacrifice for me.

My dad is the dad that will get up every morning and go to work to provide for me. To make sure I am safe. To make sure that I have what I need.

My dad is the dad that has shaped me for who I am; he has taught me the hard lessons, shown me what real life looks like, and made me the woman of God that I am all in a loving fatherly way. When I was little I came to my dad complaining that I was bored. That afternoon my dad had me pick up all the sticks in the front yard...do you think I ever complained about being bored in life?

My dad is the dad that has put up with 3 women in his life. He puts up with the shopping trips. He puts up with Say Yes To The Dress every night on TV. He puts up with the emotional highs and lows that females experience every freakin day. He puts up with all the girly things and not only puts up, but wears a smile and never complains.

My dad is the dad that every girl dreams to have in her life.
My dad is the dad that any guy in my life should be afraid of because he has set the bar so high.
My dad is the dad that teaches me to live in the moment and enjoy the company you are with.
My dad is the dad that models Christ-like behavior day after day to me.
My dad is the center of my world.

So you see, these two role models deserve novels written about them of what they mean to me, but for now a blog will have to do.
