My biggest prayer for this semester is that I will not become so busy with my life that I stop letting God work through me because I give Him no time. Sometimes, especially in America, I believe we have this bad habit of filling up every minute of our day, to the point where God has no room to use us. We need to
"Be Still" in His presence and listen to what He directs us to do. Make time in our schedule and be flexible to do the will of God.
Because sometimes our plans for the day are not Gods' plans.
Two days ago on my way to school, God did something so crazy and awakened me to the idea of what really happens when I give my day completely to Him. God put this desire in my heart to go buy lunch for a homeless man that I pass every day on my way to class. I stopped everything I was doing, grabbed a friend, and the two of us brought this man lunch.
Something my human self would never desire to do,
but God working through me yearned to do.
Come to find out His name is Whindle. Whindle is a lonely old man in a wheel chair that has nothing. He's the poorest of poor in most peoples' eyes, but, God has something crazy in store for Whindle. I know He does. Why? Because the same God that I have confidence in with my life and plans is the same God to Whindle. Whether Whindle is a believe or not, God loves Him just the same and has great plans for his life.
Every day we pass "Whindles". Maybe not quite as extreme or noticeable. Maybe it's the person who bags your groceries at the store...Or maybe it is your co-worker in your office. There are lost and lonely people all around us. Ask God for His eyes to reveal these "Whindles" to you. God has called us to be His hands and feet to the lost and lonely. Look at your life and make sure you are not making yourself so busy that God can't use you. Be so completely wrecked for Him that your heart will burden for these people like Windle.
Live a life of faith and action.
Be humbled.
Pray for God to burden your heart for what burdens His.
Love others, even when they cannot give back to you.
Open your day for God to be able to use you and find your Whindle to show His unconditional love to.
